Happy Things.....

This piece of ginger made me smile when I was grocery shopping. Usually that only happens if they resemble a bottom or penis. Am I the only person that thinks that is funny? This time I smiled because it was beautiful and fresh and needed to be used in some awesome dish. Or maybe I'll be lazy and grate it, lemon juice, sugar, icy water and a bucket load of ice for a refreshing drink.
Marie Claire made me happy because they have a free Burt's Bee eye cream worth $29 attached. I like Burt's Bees. I word of warning, be careful when squeezing the cream out, mine exploded and I looked like Mrs Doubtfire
"Hellooooo"
My lunch made me happy. I was inspired by the corn fritters I had at Watercress on the weekend. These were not as good but they were still yummo.
My dog makes me happy. In her eyes I am so interesting, I smell good, and hunt well. She never rolls her eyes at me or tells me I am embarrassing.

You've got to love a Freebie

As you know, I love freebies attached to the magazines. This morning I had to make a trip to Kippa-Ring for some necessary supplies and as I rushed through Coles I glimpsed across at the racks of magazines looking for the telltale plastic wrapping or protruding cardboard notifying me of the freebies attached. Excitedly dreaming of lip gloss, tweezers or a make up brush and what did I see ....... nothing .... not even magazines. It was past 11am, how can they be so late in stocking the magazine shelves? Seriously, it's magazine Monday, they should stock magazines before milk or bread. Who is running this circus?

I took a deep breath and walked to the news agency next door. This is usually not the best plan because the freebies are usually only in Woolworth or Coles. As I am walking towards the magazines, I notice one pile significantly high than the others...a thick magazine....wrapped in plastic...enclosing something. Gold I tell you, I struck gold, Cleo this month has a free maxi Seduce dress worth $129 attached. There are two choices, a black one or a pink one with orange trim.
I am a happy girl, sitting here in my pink Seduce maxi, with my black Seduce maxi wrapped around my shoulders reading how Katy Perry wants to get back with Russell Brand.  I'm pulling for you crazy kids.

7 ways in 7 days - Free Nookie dress

Yesterday when shopping for fruit at Bluewater Redcliffe I noticed the Girlfriend magazine had a free Nookie dress worth $69 attached.  I never purchase this magazine and it completey goes against my freebie rules written in an earlier post (the rules).  I decided to break my rules just for you. The last post with the free Seafolly dress 7 ways was popular I thought I would challenge myself to try again.  To make it fun for me, I can only use shoes and accessories in my closet and give myself about 10 mintues to throw it all together.  As you know, I am not a stylist or even stylish, just a girl (pretend with me that 38 is still a girl) on the peninsula that loves a free dress.

This Nookie dress comes in two colours, black and orange.  Black is the safe choice but the orange was the only choice for me.  It only comes in one size, thanks girlfriend.  This can not be a one size fits all, it may be one size fits one thigh.
Well that was fun, looking back over the photos I noticed two things
1. Where are all the fun colours I like; and
2. All the shoes where bought at Shoes on Scarborough on the peninsula.

Freebie Alert

I squealed with joy in Woolworth at Bluewater this morning when I saw this weeks issue of Grazia. Sure the article about "The New Power Bloggers" looked interesting (before you ask, no I was not mentioned, I think I might be about 85,000 viewers short a month) and the "Guide to Summer Style" looked informative but I was very excited about the FREE Model Co eyeshadow palette worth $39 attached.

There are 3 choices.  I naturally gravitated towards Bronzed Goddess palette and at the last moment decided to be wild, exciting and unpredictable and I chose the Smokey Eye. After taking it home to play I have decided to rename it "Punched in the Eye".

Lucky, tomorrow I have the wonderful and talented Rebecca Kate coming over to give me a much needed make up lesson.
