If she wasn't impressive enough, she has now found time to write an ebook titled 'Smoothies and Juices for Newbies'. I was so excited when I saw this. My husband has been known to go through the odd diet and he recently brought home a shiny, new, industrial strength juicer. He had been whipping up the oddest combinations which he would then attempt to balance as he chased me through the house to taste test. I still have fennel flashbacks.
Now, I am getting on the same bandwagon but I have some tried, tested and delicious combos to drink. I am a huge fan of the Ginger Top and the Honey Bee. These are both so simple and yummy. I also think I will be drinking the Detox Juice quite a lot after the Christmas season.
This book has much more than just recipes. Robyn also provides a great guide to help and inform you about raw, organic diet and health. It's full of great tips and excellent advice. You don't have to go completely raw to enjoy this, you can just add elements to your existing diet.

I am the same as you...the detox one would probably be well needed in this house in a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteYes Please, I put on 5kg over the winter which I am trying to lose. Smoothies and juices would be helpful with this. Thanks and I just liked on facebook.
ReplyDeleteAfter having Gestational Diabetes with my second baby I know I need to incorporate more fruit and vegies in my diet in order to try and prevent it reoccurring, but when you're busy with little ones sometimes you need some inspiration to get you going! So this would be a great help I'm sure :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting me on to this girl Rachel. I am on a mission to learn about organic and raw foods so our family can cut the chemicals and crap that is so abundant on what we thought were healthy foods.

This sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing! x
ReplyDeletewill eating raw make me look like her? She's gorgeous! We have a juicer that only ever gets used for a combination of the following: apple, orange, carrot, pineapple. I'd love a recipe book to try some new things!
ReplyDeleteWe need to eat more raw food, it makes you feel so much better! I read somewhere that if you ate raw carrots all day you couldn't consume enough calories. When we cook food we eat much more than we should because it is so easy to chew and digest. Raw food is so interesting.
ReplyDeleteAnything fresh, healthy and good for me is a winner here! xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great book. Raw juices are so so go for you. I would love to win the book because I would love some new flavones to try out with the girls
ReplyDeleteA few months started on the raw food journey a few months ago. I am trying to eat mostly raw but I do have some cooked meals. I'd love to win Robyn's ebook to boost me along on my journey!!
ReplyDeletei think juices are the only thing i haven't played with in my diet... it sounds very intersting!! x
ReplyDelete#teamIBOT
I'm not really a fan of juice tbh. Especially not making it myself, cause I just can't be bothered!
ReplyDeleteIf someone were to make it for me, I might change me mind however ;)
Hi Jess! Then smoothies might be more your thing! They are super quick to prepare and yummy. I usually make one and clean up in 5 mins flat! Or else you can juice every 1-2 days and store it :)
DeleteI would so love to win your ebook, I am buying a new blender but dunno what fruits & veg's that can be blended together. Also I am trying to eat more healthier & trying to lose a another kg or two.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite (non alcoholic) tipple at the moment is a Pineapple Zinger from a local cafe ... if only I could work out how to make it myself!
ReplyDeleteSounds fascinating. I've done 'juice fasts' before but I tend to get really sick of the same tastes. Some new recipes would probably encourage me to be more adventurous (and maybe stick with it as more of a lifestyle than a fad!)
ReplyDeleteIs this an international giveaway? Anyway if it is I'd like to have a copy since we just got a new juicer too but haven't started on anything. Hope to get this ebook to kickstart!

Not entering, just wanted to let you know you solved 2 of my Xmas dilemmas with the geek shirts (drum kits) and the bike rear camera (not called that OBVIOUSLY) so thank you, thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI purchased myself a juicer a few months back to start a healthy new me (and two young boys 2 & 3) who refuse to eat fruit but love juice. I told my GP this and she told me juicing was a waste of time! I haven't touched my juicer since! I would love some recipes to try and to be able to walk in and prove my GP WRONG!
ReplyDeleteShona I would LOVE for you to prove your GP wrong too! Most GP's and doctors only do a semester if that of nutrition studies and know as much and the average person when it comes to diet.
DeleteYou should check this out http://ow.ly/gbzuG - this guy reverse his medical condition with juicing for 60 days and he inspired others along the way!
I've never gotten into the juice or smoothie fad. I do have a juicer, but it's strictly for things like watermelon and strawberry juice - my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know more about raw food. I heard most of the nutrients of what you eat are lost when you cook the food...
ReplyDeleteWhen I did my Nutrition Certificate this year we talked in detail about the importance of juicing vegetables. I must say, I've been a bit slack lately and need to be inspired with some ideas. This book sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteA raw only diet, sounds fascinating, I wonder if you need a juicer? We don't have one at the mo.
ReplyDeleteHi Sophie! You don't need a juicer to utilise this book as there are also smoothie recipes as well (which require a blender).
DeleteThe eBook is not just recipes though, it also includes information on why raw food (or increasing raw food into your diet is beneficial.
Some people choose to blend then strain through a nutmilk/cheesecloth bag but if you are looking for a juicer here are some ideas on what to look for http://ow.ly/gbzkm
I love Robyn's (Girl on Raw) approach. I have been raw on & off for many years & need to ensure I stay inspired to stick with it when in a household that is not as into it as me.
ReplyDeleteWell Robyn looks a picture of health, so if that's what raw does, where do I sign up :)
ReplyDeleteI don't eat nearly enough fruit or veggies, since i have had the little one. I seem to save them all up for him to eat! Wacking them in a juice or smoothie sounds like a great, easy and quick way of getting my 5 a day. A recipe book would be fab to get some ideas and inspiration and would be good for him too I bet as whenever I have something to drink he always tries to steal it.
ReplyDeleteFennel flashbacks! You crack me up :)
ReplyDeleteI have a juicer that is taking up way too much shelf space but alas hasn't come out to play in this new house. In our previous apartment we used to juice all the time. Need to get our raw mojo back and this would do the trick I reckon. 1.5kg of 15kg pregnancy weight loss down so far, but still a long long way to go....
Oh wow! I would love to get this book! Is the giveaway for worldwide? I am currently on water detox. It involves tons of toilet visit if you know what I mean. Detox with juices would be a great way to enhace my effort on losing weight. Every week I am doing an update post related to my weight loss journey. If I can feature this in one of the series oh I would be thrilled!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel! I would love to get a copy of Robyn's book. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in Oct, I immediately cut out dairy and meat, started juicing, and I am on a journey to become healthier than ever! I'm about 80% raw now, but it's been pertty challenging to figure out what/how to eat and I'm really looking for ideas to make my meals less monotonous.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a copy of the book. I don't juice, but i do like smoothies. I'm in a rut Being diabetic, I could use inspiration for new combinations.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a copy so I can make some of these juices and smoothies after I have my baby. I really want to ensure that my body is getting all the right nutrition for when I breastfeed my baby which is due in Feb 2013.
ReplyDeleteI would love a copy of the book as I need to lose about 30kg in weight and I have a new juicer but it only came with a pamphlet to get started with.
ReplyDeleteI would love a copy of Robyn's book. I am trying to increase the amount of raw food in my diet. I needneed some inspiration, and recipes to follow.
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI would like to win one of these as I would love to give it to my good friend who has all sorts of health issues, and I am sure she would really benefit from it. She is a newbie and doesn't really know where to start with raw, juicing and smoothies so this would be great for her.

I'd like a copy Smoothies and Juices for Newbies ... hmm even someone whose been at this for a few years can learn a few new staples out of this book I'm sure. I am beginning to training for the 1st Annual 5K following the aftermath of the Newtown Tragedy ... which will be on 1/19. Smoothies & Raw lifestyle, will be in high abundance for me as I prepare to run with our community.
ReplyDeleteI'm about 8 months pregnant and would love something to help me "bounce back" once the baby comes. Plus, I think doing Raw Smoothies would help me have healthy milk!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thatnks for this as I hadn't heard of that blog and will check it out. This year has seen me eat much better - wish I could say the same for the kids... must improve their diets next year... very interested in raw so will have a look. Love being pointed in new directions.
ReplyDeleteI too have a big juicer bought by my husband for "health" reasons and it sits in the cupboard. To have a recipe "book" for both of us to use would be wonderful. Thank you for the chance to own one and do have a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWell i am aware i am getting a juicer for Christmas from my daughter, i would love ideas other then orange, apple and carrot juice to make for us both
ReplyDeleteI love to smoothie anything-that is not always a good idea as some flavours should never mix, so some guidance may lead me back to a regular, healthy juice habit!
ReplyDeleteA year ago our family went paleo, it's been hard at times but we have seen such great results in increased health and reduced weight. We have just started to scratch the surface on raw foods too as we believe this is the next step for us, this book would be a great start to this part of our lifestyle journey.

I would love a copy because having celiac disease makes eating things very hard!
ReplyDeleteI'm vegan and gluten free and it feels like being more raw with lots of juices and smoothies is the next step for 2013!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays everyone!
I'd love to win a copy of this just to get some extra nutrients into my diet. I admittingly don't eat very healthy, and I tend to drink more than I actually eat so this would be perfect for me!
ReplyDeleteJust found "raw" and am at a stalemate preparing the same juices over and over - I need some inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love orange juice and would love to learn how to make more of it!
ReplyDelete
