There are so many reasons why I love shoes. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a complete shoe lover. I even worked in a shoe shop briefly and my earnings went straight back to them to pay for my latest love. I am a lot healthier now and my addiction is under control, but shoes still hold a special place in my heart. Here are ten reasons why I love shoes:
- Feet don't have fat days. You can have a pimple, greasy hair or a fat day, but your shoes won't let you down. You can go shopping and try shoes on without feeling bad when you look at them in the mirror;
- Shoes take a simple outfit from oh-hum to yum;
- You look like you have lost 10kg when you put on a pair of heels. You legs will appear longer and you will stand straighter;
- They don't take up too much space. If you leave the shoe box at the store, you can easily sneak them into the house and to the back of your wardrobe before your husband has turned to greet you;
- They can lift your spirits and make you smile;
- They have a purpose. You need a pair to run in, for a certain job, a special occasion or to keep your feet dry. There is always a great reason to buy shoes;
- They don't answer back or mess up the house;
- They can make you run faster and longer. Well, it certainly works for me whenever I buy new runners;
- You don't have to wash them after each wear. Just a gentle, loving wipe and they are good to go; and
- Just because.
Do you love shoes? What are your reasons?
I'm with you Rachel - I love shoes, especially boots. They are the only good thing about winter :)
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, I love boots too. I love winter so I can wear boots and scarves. Thanks for reading and commenting. Rx
DeleteI dream about shoes, I love shoes & I even get serious shoe envy......yours yesterday were fabulous! I have over 50 pairs of shoes & I love each and every pair {just some a little more than others!}
ReplyDeleteI am completely the same. My shoes were a little fabulous yesterday :) They were given to me by my aunt. She has the most amazing shoes and excellent taste. See you Thursday. Rx
DeleteGood reasons! But, I beg to differ about feet and fat days... especially if you have been pregnant for 4 years straight!
ReplyDeleteOh Julie, that is true. I remember wearing 'slides' for a year. The only shoes that were comfortable for my pregnant feet. Rx
DeleteLove shoes, and agree with number 4 - you can easily sneak them in the house without the husband knowing! I'm a boot lover - pretty much my favourite thing about winter is I get to wear boots.
ReplyDeleteBoot are a little harder to sneak in, but we manage :) I love boots!! Rachel x
DeleteOh I love those colourful sneakers Rachel. They are my kind of shoes (comfy!)
ReplyDeleteI love bright runners. I can never resist them. The brighter the better. Thanks for reading and commenting. Rx
DeleteOoo yes I love shoes too! Love those ankle boots in the first pic! :) I'm going a little shoe shopping today because the Great Singapore Sale has started! Heehee
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
Hi Ai, Those boots were a birthday present to myself. I feel quite special whenever I wear them. I hope you find some great shoes today. Thanks for commenting. Rachelx
DeleteI am soooo with you on the shoe love. Cinderella was right, the right pair of shoes DO make all the difference.
ReplyDeletex
Cinderella knew what she was talking about. :) Rx
DeleteLove it !! Thanks so much for sharing with me :) Jessy from Shoe Me Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteHello Lovely Jessica, so glad you came to visit, considering you were the inspiration for this post :) Rachel x
DeleteI used to have many shoes, now I live in sneakers or boots. I am planning a DFO trip with my tax return to remedy this situation though.
ReplyDeleteDFO is great for shoe bargains. It has been so long since I was there. I might have to make a trip soon. Rx
DeleteWell you don't have to tell me twice!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a huge amount though; jut the basic necessities. In Darwin it's hard to justify too many shoes.
It is a little harder in Darwin, but then you can have havianas (sp?) in every colour. Rx
DeleteOooh, that's a plan for when we move to Port Hedland, havies in every colour!!! I am not really a shoe fan (I know, sacrilege!), but I do really enjoy a nice embellished Haviana :o)
DeleteShoe addict reporting for duty! Love reason number 4. Oh what, these old things? Had them for ages... ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, Yes I do that. It's at the beginning of the Shoe addict manual. :) Thanks for reading and commenting. Rachel x
DeleteMen so don't get the whole shoes thing. Hubster always wants to know why I need ANOTHER pair of black shoes. Only another woman gets it. (BECAUSE ... this pair has a low heel. This pair is high. These ones are shiny. These ones are casual, and these ones aren't. These ones are boots ... you know how it is!)
ReplyDeleteThey don't get it at all but I do. It's funny, I may have 6 pairs of black shoes but I don't have the perfect pair of black heels. I will one day though. Rxx
DeleteI am not really a shoe person. I have my sneakers and my thongs and a pair of closed in flats for winter and that's it. I really love those colourful sneakers they would make me run fast as well
ReplyDeleteRhianna, I have a few family members like you. I still love them. :) Rachel x
DeleteI have only just found a love of shoes. Most of my life I've only had two pairs; work/school shoes and runners. Only this year I bought my first real pair of high heels and I love them but am not very coordinated. My four year old wears them better than I do! I am committed to a shoe collection ;)
ReplyDeleteMy shoe love didn't take off until I was in my 30's. I think I was a late bloomer. My 6 year old is nuts for wearing my heels too. Thanks for commenting. Rachel x
DeleteI love my flats and sports shoes but heels have been a bit lack luster of late... Look a bit silly getting nappies or at the beach in them I guess!!x
ReplyDeleteHeel and sand are no good unless you are Katy Perry (California Girls). Thanks for reading. Rachel x
DeleteI want every pair you posted a pic of. Please.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, shoes. You've inspired me: I'm wearing heels tomorrow. Mums' group and the supermarket won't know what hit 'em!
Hi Emily, I use to save my heels for good. Then I asked myself why? Now I just wear them wherever and whenever I like. It makes me feel happier knowing they are all getting outings :) Rx
DeleteShoes glorious shoes! Can you have too many shoes? NEVAH! :D
ReplyDeleteNEVAH!!! I completely agree.
DeleteI agree!! Except my shoe collection, even after extensive culling, is nearing divorce-inducing levels so I have transferred my addiction to online accessories shopping.... like shoes sparkly things (just about) always fit, immediately life your mood and, unlike shoes, are really really easy to hide form husbands and partners!
ReplyDeletegrrr ipad "*lift your mood..." and "* easy to hide from husbands..."
ReplyDelete"They don't mess up the house"
ReplyDeleteI dunno, I tend to throw my shoes at my shoe basket and miss, then forget to pick them up until I trip up on them :)
My 2.5 year old has the biggest shoe fetish already - she's asking Santa for some "dancing shoes" apparently...
