I live for summer in Queensland. The days are long, sunny and gorgeous and the nights filled with warm, salty breezes.
My wardrobe staples are:
Long fun skirts. This gorgeous one is only $45 at Tree of Life
Colourful, floaty dresses. They need to breath. This one from
Witchery $199.95 is perfect
Fun flat sandals or thongs for the beach or school run. I love the colour and price of this
Nine West ones. They are only $49.95 and of course,
Havaianas, these slim Missioni ones tick all the boxes $69.95.
Tan or nude wedges. I love a wedge for their comfort and height. I need these to stretch out my short legs. They are great to wear with dresses, shorts or jeans. Again, these are from
Nine West $139.95.
A white shirt.
Witchery always has great white shirts. I love the fun twist on the classic. The pleated back will cover my generous butt and the short sleeves will keep me cool $119.95.
A great pair of skinny ankle skimming jeans in a neutral colour. I have been lusting after
NYDJ ever since I first saw them on
Styling You. These caramel ones would be perfect $104.
Piles of light, colourful scarves. Like these from
Sussan $29.95 and
Witchery $39.95
A great hat like this trilby from Witchery $39.95
A big bag to fit in water, sunscreen and a towel. This
Oroton hobo is perfect $545 but I might want to get it when it's on special.
Large Sunnies. I'll take these Raybans.
I could include a pair of shorts, but you will never, ever catch me wearing shorts.
Pass me a Mojito and I am good to go.
What are you summer wardrobe must-haves?
The hat and sunnies are a given but you've forgotten the beach kaftan - the more bedazzled and over-the-top the better.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did forget the kaftan. I haven't found one that I love (and can afford) yet.
DeleteOh, I love the skirt and the scarves - I should try more summer skirts this year
ReplyDeleteYou really should :)
DeleteI love the long skirt!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I love Tree of Life for the cheap fun, light skirts. Rx
DeleteI am on the lookout for some summer dresses, my cupboard is bare, and I love those nude shoes.
ReplyDeleteMy summer wardrobe needs some attention too, but I'm getting there.
DeleteThose dresses and skirts were beautiful but for me it is boardies all the way. I missed the lady like genes that are needed to wear all that flowing pretty stuff!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's the lady like genes - I just look terrible in boardies.
DeleteIt's still a bit cool down here in Melbourne, but I'm really liking those nude wedges! Wedges are my favourite kind of shoe.
ReplyDeleteWedges are my favourite too.
DeleteI still haven't found the perfect pair of wedges for summer, I don't want too much height. Any online suggestions?
ReplyDeleteMy sister is the same. She found a pair she liked on Styletread. I'll have a look and see if I can see anything :)
DeleteI love the first skirt Rachel.
ReplyDeleteMy must haves are 3/4 pants / knee length shorts.

DeleteSome great pieces their Rahche. Who would have thought to release a missoni havaina! Now everyone can afford designer footwear!
ReplyDeleteI know, I love them.
DeleteI love that first skirt. I've been on the lookout for some fun, long flowing skirts for summer.
ReplyDeleteMy really should check out Tree of Life then :)
Deleteoooo I like the pants and white shirt...
ReplyDeleteif I had spare money I would buy them!
I wish I had spare money too :)
DeleteFloaty dresses all the way - perfect for our humid Qld summers.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot swimmers!!!
I did forget them! Silly me :)
DeleteAnything comfy as long as I have my sunnies!
ReplyDeleteI love my sunnies. I won't walk outside without them.
DeleteLoving the scarves! :)
ReplyDeleteScarves are excellent. I have way too many.
DeleteJeans. Jeans are an all year thing for me. Unless I can find some nice airy black pants then jeans are my go to pants.
ReplyDeleteI need to get into more dresses this summer. I am a t-shirt & shorts girl normally. Whenever I wear a dress, people think I am going out for a special occasion which might be a bit of a wake up call!
ReplyDeleteThese clothes are definately my style of clothes. Thanks Rachel x
I love the hat! I refuse to buy a handbag as then Id be a grown up ;)
ReplyDeleteUsually just a singlet and shorts and I'm good to go. But I'm a fast-ballooning whale this summer. Any 2012/13 summer maternity wardrobe tips? I think maxi dresses will be my friend.
ReplyDeleteI love all of those. My only summer staple is a winning lottery ticket to be able to buy them all! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou don't wear shorts? Wow! I have just picked up a dressy pair from Esprit and can not think of what I wore before!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to pop into Tree of Life - those skirts are so pretty!
I have all the other things in various forms!
Great list! You are such a stylish chickee-babe!
I love these long skirts and dresses!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices...love them all.... Especially the mojito! Have a fabulous summer x
ReplyDeleteLove this skirt! Might have to go and have a little peek today.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great list, Rach. Love that Tree of Life skirt - such a pretty print. I tend to live in short dresses (definitely NOT shorts), jewelled sandals and my Havi's.
ReplyDeleteOh I need some money to go shopping
ReplyDeleteLovely collection you have their. All perfect for my lifestyle!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing : )
