I feel like an old lady, taking my pills every evening. The only thing that would make it worse, was if I used a pill dispenser.
I had been feeling run down recently and bought some Multi vitamins.
I also picked up some Iron supplements. Being vegetarian, my iron levels can sometimes be a little low. Ideally I would like to be getting the iron from Soya , lentils, spinach etc but I wasn't getting enough.
My husband also insisted on Krill Oil. He bought this one and passed it onto me.
My personal trainer told me that Magnesium was a must. Great for bone density and avoiding injury.
Years ago a friend bought me a tub of Glucosamine because I complained of joint that was a little sore in my left pointer finger. After three months, the joint wasn't sore anymore. So, it's a little slow acting but I have continued to take them.
For when I can't sleep.
This seems like an over-the-top amount of supplements.
The krill oil is fab but might I suggest to make sure you drink it with a very big glass of water and avoid anything remotely burpable for a few hours. You do not want to hiccup up the taste of krill oil! YEEEUUCCCH!
ReplyDeleteI take krill oil, Vitamin D3 and lots of medication daily.
The Krill oil burp is disgusting. Yukkk!!
DeleteYou are all vitamined up! I just take a multi when I'm feeling a bit low, and at the moment all there is mens multis in the top of the pantry. I have been meaning to buy some womens and some fish oil ones. Haven't some across krill oil before.
ReplyDeleteI have been know to pop the men's multis when I am desperate :)
DeleteI'm just taking calcium and a multi vitamin. Hopefully that's enough to help with the iron levels (my chemist recommended not taking the iron supplement as well, because it would be too much and be counterproductive)
ReplyDeleteI hope it's enough. You need all your energy with your business schedule. Rx
DeleteYes! Iron, Vitamin D plus 1000mg C - upped when feeling depleted. Magnesium and Zinc when I remember.
ReplyDeleteDon't count my prescription stuff and painkillers. Walking chemist, me!
Xxx
I don't count those either :)
DeleteI take folate every day but only to minimize damage that my arthritis medication could cause. Otherwise I wouldn't take any supplements.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky you don't need them :)
DeleteMy GP recommended Centrum for if either of us are feeling run down. He said it's a good balance of all our needs.
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out. It'd be good to take one instead of 5 :)
DeleteI'm taking folate and iron at the moment and I am up and down with magnesium & fish oil, I often forget to take them. I would take a multi-vitamin but after being laughed at by my friend who is a doctor and thinks that are a scam, I've been a little pill-shy.
ReplyDeleteI would be a little pill shy too. My pills have mostly been on the recommendation of doctors. I guess all of them say different things :)
DeleteI take multi-vits and DHA at the moment. Used to take more when I was breastfeeding ;p
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
multi-v, iron, calcium and vit d are mine!
ReplyDelete:) Another rattler
DeleteYou've got quite a cocktail their.... I've been eating the children's gummy bear multi-vitamins!
ReplyDeleteHaha, my girls love them.
DeleteI really need to buy some vitamins and especially calcium. Because of my lactose intolerance, I don't consume enough of calcium.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I do either.
DeleteNow that is one heck of a cocktail - I am going to suggest you check with your GP as you may be at risk of damaging your kidneys with what you are mixing up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacana, great advice. I have spoken to doctors previously and I should do it again. You never know :)
DeleteI take a cocktail of supplements every day too - especially VIT D and Calcium.
ReplyDeleteoh you must be rattling...) hope they make you feel a little better;x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely feeling better, thanks
DeleteYou're pickling yourself! I hope it works :-)
ReplyDeleteit seems to be. I don't take them all every day, just the ones that are needed :)
