Miley Cyrus is the lead and does a fine job. I think she is quite charismatic on screen. Demi Moore is her mum. I am not afraid to admit that I like Demi Moore. I like her voice, it's so sexy and husky. I want a sexy, husky voice but it would probably sound more drag queeny on me.

The good bits
- The mother/daughter dynamic. They were very close and believable. I think Demi and Miley probably really like each other in real life
- Demi's voice (pass me the whisky and smokes)
- Fisher Stephens. I just like him. He is one of those people I call strangely attractive. I wish he had more than 5 minutes screen time
- Miley Cyrus seemed like she was playing herself. She must be a great actress or she really was just being herself
The bad bits
- It seemed like a little stray vaseline might have got on lens when they were filming Demi.
- I thought Demi's love interest seemed a little young. At 34 year old Jay Hernandaz might even be too young for me
- I also don't think the mother would hop on the back of a motor bike 2 minutes after meeting someone for the first time. What kind of message is this giving the young and impressional teens watching this movie?
- The chicken fondling scene was not necessary
- Ashley Greene's make up

ReplyDeleteOk now I am just intrigued.
(The chicken fondling scene?)
I guess I just want to see what this chicken fondling scene is all about, so I'd love to win! - Sarah @ Just One More Chapter
ReplyDeleteChicken fondling?
ReplyDeleteDon't put me in the comp, caue I can't stand Miley and I know boatman wouldn't watch it.
Intrigued about the chicken fondling though...
Would love to win a copy because I think it's a movie my daughter and I could watch together and relate to.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a copy as we are all Miley fans in our house!
ReplyDeleteHehe, bit of stray vaseline on the lens. Ahhh, we all need a bit of "softening" and "creative lighting" every now and then! (Don't worry about popping me in the comp either... Oh, and I am considering googling "chicken fondling scene" but might wait until I'm not on the work computer...)
ReplyDeleteI have heard a lot about this movie and would love to see it. The chicken fondling has me intrigued!
ReplyDeleteYour comment about vaseline on the lens for Demi Moore made me laugh, now I want to see it for myself!
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting and I love Demi Moore too. She's such a hot mum ;p And erm, chicken fondling??
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
I'd like to win this because I'd be too embarrassed to admit that I quite like Miley Cyrus and ask for it as a present from anyone else! Or to be caught buying it. But saying I won it? Socially acceptable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting another giveaway. Good luck to everyone!
That made me look up Fisher Stephens. And I LOL'd a bit that you find him strangely attractive. I need to win so that I can get my Fisher Stephens on!
ReplyDelete(btw I also find weird men attractive)
You lost me at Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore. I hate to say it but I'm not much of a fan of either. As Jess said though, chicken fondling does sound interesting!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the masses - I want to see this movie just to understand what chicken fondling is!
ReplyDeleteLove your honest movie reviews.
I would like to win this because I actually want to see this movie, I saw a lot of ads for it on YouTube and to me it looks interesting! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Demi and Miley. What's not to like. I have never heard of this movie but now I wanna see it!
ReplyDeleteI saw the shorts, and my husband said "No way, will we ever see that movie." But maybe I can hire it out when he's out one night :)
ReplyDeleteOh! I really want to see this! So, why do I want to win this? 4 words. Douglas Booth eye candy!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this movie but I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan (I own every series on DVD). Therefore as you mentioned that this movie had a similar style to the Gilmore Girls I think I would enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win a movie so I can watch something Decent over the xmas break ... There is NEVER anything on TV during xmas.
ReplyDeleteWould love to win this, as it would be a film that my sister and I would love to watch together
ReplyDeleteI love watching movies that show the conflicts that mother's and their teenagers go through. It helps me remember that I am not the only one that has difficulties raising a teenager.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds interesting - and the chicken fondling??? probably not two words that need to go together! I like Ashley Greene though so I am keen to see...
ReplyDeleteI would like this movie, it made me...lol in the trailer-if you pardon the pun. LOL!
ReplyDeleteNice giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this dvd for my daughter, as she adores Miley Cyrus. She has also mentioned getting the dvd, but it would be so much exciting to win a copy rather than having to buy it....LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing new movies!
ReplyDeleteI would really love to win Because it's a remake of the French movie and im sure this updated one will be much better!
ReplyDeleteSeriously wow! My twins and I would love this they are huge Miley fans and I think Demi is awesome. I can see the three of us spending mother daughter time on a quiet weekend watching this with a block of chocy and a big bag of pop corn xx
ReplyDeleteI love Demi MKoore, i think she is stunning! Would love to see this movie xx
ReplyDeleteo this sounds like my house
ReplyDeleteo this sounds like my house......
ReplyDeleteJust watched it with hubster & Miss 16 as I was a lucky winner :-)
ReplyDeleteIt covered a lot of the issues we have been going through with our daughter!
Demi's character seemed a bit irresponsible and immature to me - surely by that age she would have more sense?
I agree, chicken fondling scene was unnecessary (but we did laugh!)
Yes the mother/daughter relationship was pretty spot on too.
