I love Redcliffe Peninsula and I love it even more on weekends. My girls and I are always on the lookout for weekend activities and we love anything outside. It's usually not hard to find something to do. Redcliffe has so many local markets, fairs and festivals and we also have great parks, bike paths and beaches.
Recently we slapped on the 30+, hats, packed up the car with scooters, children, the Cavoodle and rolled down the hill to the Scarborough waterfront. The tide was out, the water was still, and the temperature was perfect.
I set up camp under a tree. The children played for hours on their scooters, the park and the beach while I greeted every happy walker and their dog. The only thing that could have made the morning better was a coffee van. Seriously, if you have a coffee van, can you just follow me about on the weekends?

  1. I grew up in Redcliffe and moved to Sydney when I was 21 where where I've lived for the past 15 years. I'll be back visiting my family up there for a week from next Saturday and would love your recommendations on things I must see/do (with a 2.5 year old). Any good shop recommendations? Best Parks? Best Op-shops? Best Coffee? I usually end up spending half the time 'off' the peninsula when I'm in town, but this time am mostly wanting to just hang out there.

    1. That will be nice visiting your family. There are so many great places.

To start with go to Nellie in Clontarf for coffee. They roast their own beans on site, it smells amazing and it's great coffee. Valori in Scarborough is great for coffee too.

You must visit Mon Komo for a cocktail or two.

Lunch at Reef Point in Scarborough.

There's a few to start. Let me know if you want a few more.

    1. We are pretty lucky. I have water about 250 metres away in 3 directions. We don't have waves though. I would love some surf but that might a little greedy :)
