Blogger Basics: Blogging on the Go

Do you ever have those moments when you are out-and-about and you have a flash of inspiration? The best idea for a blog post ever and you know that you can't possibly forget something so perfectly bloggable. Then by the time you get home and steal a few minutes to get in front of the monitor and it's gone. Not even a whisper of an idea left behind.

A way to avoid this forgetfulness is to blog-on-the-go.
Here are some tips for Blogging on the go:

1. You can be one of those highly organised people, use your Notebook or iPad, drop into your favourite bar cafe, order a glass of red coffee and ask for their free Wifi code and log on through your Notebook or iPad.

2. If you haven't already done so, work out how to tether/hotspot your iPad or Notebook to your phone. This way, if you can't find free Wifi you can still have access to the internet. I have found this extremely useful many times.
  • On the iPhone you can set up Hotspot by going into Settings, general, cellular and set up personal hotspot. This will create a hotspot password that you will need to use when logging in from your other devices. You can also change the password to something rememberable.
3. Download the Blogger or wordpress app for your phone. This won't be the easiest way to blog but it will give you the opportunity to get your thoughts down before they fly away.

4. Also, download the buffer and bitly apps. This will help you to stay organised when you are not organised.

There, now you have one less excuse why you can't blog regularly.

The Gift of Giving is sometimes way too hard

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday. Babe, if you are reading - stop now!

As you may know, I have so much trouble buying him gifts. You would think after 20 years I would have it sorted. Last year I really struggled, you can read it about it here. He makes it so hard because he buys little presents for himself all the time. Lucky he is generous and gifts often extend to the rest of the family too.

This year I am feeling confident. I have covered all of the senses:

Touch
Sight
Sound
Taste
Smell

Seriously, how could it go wrong?

Lucky, I have a back up plan if I sense disappointment ;)

Then next year I'll just buy him a Daddle.
