My favourite self imposed rule

I have a habit of making silly rules for myself and then sticking with them. Once they are made, they can not be broken.

A few of my rules are:

  • I must always finish a run on the kilometre mark. It can be 10km, 12km but never 10.2km or 11.7km. Nice round numbers
  • Never leave the house without a spritz of perfume
  • Cover your ears when going to sleep. Even with a few strands of hair. This will stop creepy crawlies from discovering a new home.
  • If undies are uncomfortable, throw them out immediately

But my favourite self imposed rule is:
  • Whenever you receive a Myer Voucher it must go towards a new Chanel lipstick or gloss. Myer sent me my voucher this week, so of course I had no choice but scamper immediately to the Chanel counter and play with all the colours on the back of my hand. I'm pretty thrilled with my new addition, Rouge Allure in Exces.

Do you ever make a rules for yourself?

  1. Oh I'd love a new lippy! I never buy them, which is ridiculous because I always wear it. I survive on lipsticks my mum gets free as gifts with purchase. this must change!
I have lots of self imposed rules mainly to do with exercise and constantly break them. I do have a no booze during the week rule that I mostly keep, and I have a very important rule about.photos. Any ugly or depressing photos of oneself should be deleted immediately! They don't deserve to live.

  3. Now that's a rule I could happily adopt. I got a gift voucher to Malouf Pharmacies yesterday - think I need to use it on lippie!

  6. Hahaha cover your ears.. thats a goodie.I am pretty anal about evenness so if i was to ever run, it would need to be on exactly kms too!

    My self imposed rules are:

    - Always fill in my eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil
    - Nails need to be painted (otherwise i will bite them)
    - Always double check you have locked the doors (I am anal about home security haha)

Definitely love the idea of spending all myer vouchers on lippy. Mine tends to be on Country Road clothes ha!!

  9. The only rule I have is that housework is done in front of my son. My time is for doing my stuff. That lippy is a beautiful colour!

  11. I love a good chanel lippy! I spent so many years working for virgin atlantic that as soon as I think of Chanel, I think of bright red 'virgin' lips! It was such a huge part of my wardrobe. I miss it sometimes - might have to find an occasion to get that red lippy out again. (popping in from TUSK)

  13. I enjoyed your rules....it makes me think of funny/silly rules I have imposed. I count things as I put them into the fry pan...if I am doing braised beef etc...it is dumb and useless...yet I do it :-)

I envy you wearing such a lush gloss...It would feather up towards my forhead...not just because "my age" Gloss always has feathered on me. grrrrr

I share your ending the run on the machine "on the kilometer"...weird...but true. :-)
