5 Things that drive me nuts...

5 Things that drive me nuts

1. People that aren't punctual. A few minutes here and there is fine, but when they are 20 minutes or more it drives me nuts. I think they are giving the message that your time is not as important as theirs and they are happy to waste yours.
2. When drivers don't indicate. I'm not physic, I really need these signals to be able to drive safety around you.

3. People with no internal monologue. They just keep talking, talking (or singing) and not really saying anything. I think it's because I enjoy silence so much.
4. When people don't pick up their dog's poo when they are out. I have been known to chase people, hand them a bag and send them back to collect their furry pal's stinky nugget.

5. People that don't teach their children manners. It doesn't cost anythings to use manners and it's one of the best gifts you can give your children.

5 Cool things

1. Random stranger giving me a smile
2. A dog running like a champion beside their owner
3. An empty washing basket
4. The initial buzz that Christmas is coming soon
5. A good cup of coffee

What drives you nuts? Come on, you can let it all out here.

PS: Yesterday Salz wrote about her 32 annoyances. She has an extensive list and was my inspiration today.

  3. I Agree with all of theses too. I missed them in my 32 things that annoy me lol. And the dog poo one is so annoying. The council here provides a ba free at every bin along the beach and no one uses them. dog poo on the sidewalk where people walk and not on the grass too. Gross.

  5. Kind of beside the point... but you have amazing teeth. I love them. And just wondering, what is an empty washing basket? I've not heard of such a thing.

  6. Yep, I'm with ya on those, especially the manners thing. What is with that? When I was a kid, we may not have been the best kids when we were at home, but dammit if we weren't fucking angels when we were out! We had the best manners and people always complimented Mum for it, there was no running around, talking back, being rude anyone, especially other adults, when we went to someone's house we didn't ask for a drink, we waited until it was offered, we sat by Mum's side unless the adult who's house it was gave us permission to hang out in a different room or play with the toys. There was a certain way you had to behave in public and we did it. I hope to instill the same kinds of manners in Mia because I think nothing reflects more poorly no a person than a lack of manners.

I have to say though I am often guilty of number 3, I'm a super talker (in case you hadn't noticed by the ridiculously long blog posts and comments I leave everywhere!)

  7. People that ask you what to do, agree that is what they should do and then totally ignore your advice. If you don't want my advice, don't ask for it.

  8. Definitely when people aren't punctual. It doesn't take much to call and say you'll be late. My S-I-L is notorious for being late (she was once 2 hours late to a family lunch for no other reason than she was disorganised, and then had the hide to ask us to save some for her....)

  11. 3 tops my list.

I know a few who just "talks" not because they're actually speaking to you. They're just "talking out" what's ACTUALLY going on in their heads.

...And you'll only know this after you make a sensible response and you realize that it's not a two-way conversation. They just need to spill out everything going on in their heads.

It drives me crazy, coz I want prefer being polite and listening and I can't ever tell if the person is in this thinking-talking-simulataneously trance

  12. There are so many things that drive me nuts, but right now, with my cuppa and reading blogs, I can't think of one. On the late thing, my BFF & her husband were once 50 minutes late meeting us at a theme park I had a discount coupon to get in to. So we waited for them only for her to show up with the same coupon. Why didn't she say, "Don't want for us, we'll meet you inside"? Talk about making me nuts!

  13. A big fat YES for the people who don't use their indicator! Also the people who don't wave when you let them merge in front of you.. Grrr!!

    1. What is so hard about the thank you wave? It's a small price to pay for being let in.

  14. My peev at the moment, parents that don't RSVP to birthday party invites. I don't really mind if the answer is no... I'd just like to know.

  15. 1. Living with out a kitchen / bathroom / laundry (for nearly 5 months now and still probably another 2 or 3 months to go)
    2. My fiance can never seem to find the washing basket. His clothes end up wherever he takes them off.
    3. The cat meowing at the front door at 3am. It's not morning yet, bugger off and do what cats do at night.
    4. Budgeting. That's just what you have to do when you are renovating/extending and planning a wedding and it SUCKS! I just want to be a little frivolous with my money (ie: go on a shopping spree)!

    1. They are all very annoying. I had a cat that did the same thing. I was dumb enough to get up and let him in and out all night. He trained me well.

  17. When you hold the door open after you have gone through it to someone behind you who then walks through and completely ignores the fact that you are there never mind saying thank you. Or the other way round when you are about to go in somewhere and you open the door to let the person walking the other way out the door, they don't say thank you and then to add insult to injury about 15 other people walk through again without even acknowledging you are there - I am not a freaking door man. I always get so mad and end up screaming 'YOUR WELCOME' at the top of my voice. (which they ignore and makes me feel stupid)
