What I wore: Fashion fail

This is my new skirt from Tree of Life. I love their clothes for my casual summer wardrobe. They are so light, airy and perfect for hot, Queensland days. This gorgeous skirt was only $39.
I wore it for the first time yesterday. I teamed it with some old EOS sandals and a black Witchery singlet. I even wore a green bra to match the colours in the skirt. Matchy, match, match.

I was feeling great. I looked good and was feeling cool in the warm, summer breeze.

It was perfect for a visit to my sister's house so the girls could have a play with their cousin. After a few hours my sister decided to announce that my skirt was COMPLETELY see-through. So see-through that she could tell I was wearing lace nickers.

That's cool.

Like I worry about things like that! See through skirts are all over the red carpet at the moment. I am that fashion forward. Except, I still had to do shopping and hang out at swimming lessons - IN THE SUN. I was walking with strategically held bags for the rest of my day.

Maybe, I'm not that cool after all.

Thanks Sis.

Being Thankful Thursday, I'll let you know that I was thankful that I was wearing nice nickers.

Have you had any awkward wardrobe moments? I'd really love you to share all the horrible, embarrassing details.

PS: I will wear this skirt to death over the next few months, but I'll be teaming it with a light black slip of some sort.

  1. It is a gorgeous skirt though! Can you line it? I'm having a giveaway at the moment ($5o store credit) I'd love if you would check it out!

  2. I once went to WORK in a see though top! It was dark when I got dressed in the morning so didn't realise until I was standing in front of a room full of people devlivering a training session. Fail!!

  3. You'll have to get a half-slip love....hehehe, do you even remember those? I wonder if they still sell them??

  4. ahh well there are far worse things you could have done. Have you heard about Ann Hathaway's fashion FAIL!?!? OMG seriously, she could have done with a nice pair of lace underwear!

    1. That was a huge fail. I was surprised because she is usually such a pro. Rx

  5. Ahh yes, the old see-through skirt caper. Been there too. It is a lovely skirt, all the same.
I once went to work with my top on inside out. Seams and tags hanging out everywhere.
I fully blame sleep deprivation for that one! (and the husband - what was with him not noticing before I left the house??)

  6. That's always a disappointing moment isn't it!? My fiancee likes to make announcements like that about an hour AFTER we've left the house and have no option to fix the issue. Helpful! xx

  8. Ah, surely we've all done that at some point! Forget the slip, just keep wearing nice knickers! Gorgeous skirt.

  9. Oh no! Be grateful for nice knickers and sisters who can tell it like it is!

  10. It's only a fail if you are in bad undies...otherwise it's daring...

  11. I am loving that skirt see through or not!

  12. I wouldn't worry, if Diana could be splashed across the news for the entire world to see all those moons ago, then you can too. You have undies on and are showing a lot less than most at the pool, I am sure :)

  13. Oh no, that sux! I hate it when things like that happen. I have a dress, that I wear as a skirt now, and it is the same thing, totally see-through, and it wasn't till after a day at the park for a friends birthday that anyone bothered to mention it to me. I was 7 months pregnant too and was not wearing nice knickers!

    1. I love the sandals too. They are getting to their used by date and I can't find anything close to replace them with.

  14. Oh, I hate skirts or dresses that are accidentally see though. But you had lacy knickers on and I am very impressed. There's something for 2013, buy some cool underwear!

  17. Not that I know much about these things but K-Stew has been rocking the flash yer Reg Grundies see-through gown thing on the red carpet recently. You're just taking the inspiration from run way to real way. The print and fabric are gorgeous. I'm loving Tree Of Life.
