Happy Things.....

This piece of ginger made me smile when I was grocery shopping. Usually that only happens if they resemble a bottom or penis. Am I the only person that thinks that is funny? This time I smiled because it was beautiful and fresh and needed to be used in some awesome dish. Or maybe I'll be lazy and grate it, lemon juice, sugar, icy water and a bucket load of ice for a refreshing drink.
Marie Claire made me happy because they have a free Burt's Bee eye cream worth $29 attached. I like Burt's Bees. I word of warning, be careful when squeezing the cream out, mine exploded and I looked like Mrs Doubtfire
"Hellooooo"
My lunch made me happy. I was inspired by the corn fritters I had at Watercress on the weekend. These were not as good but they were still yummo.
My dog makes me happy. In her eyes I am so interesting, I smell good, and hunt well. She never rolls her eyes at me or tells me I am embarrassing.

10 Things that made me happy today...

 1. Buying a dress from Myer at North Lakes. I liked it but balked at the price, it was $159. I took it to the counter to see if it was marked down. It scanned at $23. What!!! Obviously it was meant to be and I won't even hide this one or reduce the price when I show my husband. It's a little big, it must have been designed for ladies with actual breasts, so I'll need to grow some or do some alterations.
2. Running 17.5km on the treadmill while watching Breaking Dawn. I think Breaking Dawn must be one of the most boring movies ever. Maybe I managed this distance because I feel asleep from boredom and was sleep running for most of it

3. Watching my littlest eat a Kiwi berry. The faces she pulled where hysterical.

4. Eating leftover Roast Pumpkin Rissotto for lunch. It was better than last night.

5. Getting my RACQ card in the mail. It made me feel like a real grown up. More than marriage or children did.

6. Nurofen plus. I have a sore ear and the codeine made me happy.

7. A cup of Earl Grey tea.

8. Meeting someone in real life that reads my blog.

9. Receiving a free coffee at Gloria Jeans Kippa Ring

10. The chilled crisp NZ Sauvignon Blanc I'll open at 5pm.

What made you happy today?

PS: Tomorrow I might do 10 things that me me unhappy today. That would be fun.

Things that make me happy!

I love going to the supermarket, discovering there are new magazines out and they have great gifts attached. Today I pick up the Madison Magazine and it had two choices of Nail Polish. I picked the 'Yummy Mummy' which is a perfect, soft brown. It looks gorgeous against a tan. Makes me feel very 'yummy mummy' like and also very thrifty.

Last week I got a blue Mimco bag. I really wanted the orange one but couldn't find one anywhere. I have a few rules I need to follow in the search for the gifts. It has to be a magazine I will read, I can't already have the magazine at home and they have to be gifts I'll really use. Occasionally, I'll break the rules, like for the Elizabeth Arden lip gloss, but I really did read the magazine three times. There was also a great eyeliner attached to another magazine, so I had to buy the magazine for everyone I knew because it was too good for them to miss out. It sure makes grocery shopping a lot more fun.

Plus, when you buys things at the supermarket, it counts as groceries.

Things that made me happy today...

It is so easy to think of all the things that have gone wrong or that aren't perfect, but today I will not. I am going to make a list of all the things that made me feel good today and it doesn't matter how small they are;
  • Woken up by two, warm, daughters for a morning cuddle;
  • Beautiful, sunny morning;
  • A tight, goodbye cuddle and a smile like sunshine;
  • Coffee with a friend after school drop off. She didn't have a choice, I dropped by on short notice;
  • A ride on my bike along the gorgeous, sunny, Scarborough waterfront. Perfect temperature, water sparkling;
  • Jumping from fright when my aunt and uncle drove past me and honked;
  • a funny text from a friend;
  • Bought the Rimmel lipstick by Kate Moss. I am sure I'll look just as cool as her, just older, daggier and not a supermodel with a questionable habit;
  • A good carpark at the school; and
  • A compliment about something I had done.
Wow, I feel really good now and it's only 5.30pm. I hope you have a list of things that made you feel good today.
