The Perks of being a Wallflower and a DVD Giveaway RRP $200

Don't get misled by the cover and the title. These guys aren't like any wallflowers I don't remember from school. They are perfectly gorgeous, fashionable and memorable.

This is a traditional coming of age movie with everything you want. It has a gorgeous, talented cast, a well written script full of highs and lows and a fantastic soundtrack. The basic story is a loner starts a new school and becomes friends with a group of misfits.
It is lovely so see Hermione (aka Emma Watson) all grown up and without a wizard's wand. She is mesmerising on screen. The male leads Logan Lerman (the main wallflower) and Ezra Miller (the gay wallflower) were perfectly cast.

The highlight for me was the Rocky Horror Picture show scenes. I love anything to do with Rocky Horror. Ezra was an excellent and too pretty Frank-N-Furter.

Giveaway!! Giveaway!! Giveaway!!
Thanks to Roadshow Entertainment I have 5 copies of the DVD to giveaway to celebrate the release. Please tell me below why you would like to win a copy of The Perks of being a Wallflower DVD. The five most entertaining answers will win. Please enter prior to 6am on 9th April 2013.

  1. I'm so out of the loop with music nowadays, that the only way I know about anything new is when I hear it on a soundtrack! The fact that you've listed this as having a fantastic one, means that my playlists would benefit greatly from winning one of these ;)

  2. I would love to win because this was the first movie I was able to see with my son, but because it was a Babes in Arms session, there was a bit of negotiating movie around feeding, changing and the occasional baby squeals!

I did love the movie, though (just like I loved the book) and I'd love to see it over and over again!

  17. I, myself used to be quite loud & out there, I have over time, found myself becoming more of a wallflower. I think maybe I need some inspiration which this movie could give me, to become less of a wallflower, & more of the "middle of the floor, having a good time, but not too loud" type of person!!

  18. I would love to win this contest! When I read this book for the first time, my entire life changed. I had met a boy who had so much in common with me. Charlie remains my favorite protagonist of all time.. along with Holden Caulfield. I can relate to Charlie in so many ways and on so many levels. We view the world in the exact same way. I cannot wait for Stephen to write another novel!

I do not own the novel. I have it as a pdf file. To be able to own the dvd would bring the story to life for me! I can't wait to re-read the book in my free time.

As I said, the novel changed my life. It showed me I'm not the only one struggling to keep my head up amongst the whirlwind around me. :)

  19. I'd love to hear what the perks of being a wall flower actually are.
At my high school dances a lot of us guys were just left sitting around all night.
Then again, that could be because it was an all boys school. :) And the girls from our sister school knew us too well. They never showed up!

  20. Emma Watson all grown up - sort of - is a big draw card here.

Thanks to the mention of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW I now have some of the raunchier numbers flashing before my eyes & in my head.

I have heard great things about THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER & would love to see for myself thanks.

  21. Love that the movie wasnt hype up, adaptation was close to the book and was a very entertaining watch.

  22. I would love to win this because it's what brought my now boyfriend and I together. We've been best friends for years and I was going through a really hard time. We got closer and we both read the book at the same time. By falling in love with the book, we talked more and ended up falling in love with each other. Going to see the movie was our first date. I have no doubt in my mind we'll be together forever, and he's insistent that if we end up married, our kids have to see this movie and read the book. Owning a copy of the movie would make this heaps easier, and be a great way to surprise him.

  23. I am a series addict and the best way to watch a series is with back to back episodes. I would love to own The Perks of Being a Wildflower on DVD so I can spend a day on the couch watching episode after episode.

  24. As a single mother of two teenagers (1 boy, 1 girl) I'd use this superb movie as a way of touching base with my children; spending valuable time together and hopefully communicating too.

  25. My niece loves this movie so much she saw it five times at the movies. Only problem was finding someone to go with so uncle was dragged along 4 out of 5 times and swears that if his wife does not get this movie for said niece he will subject wife to watching the Lord of the Rings Trilogy 5 times eachas punishment. Please help said aunty!

  26. When I was in high school (in Brisbane) I was shy and awkward. (I think the term Wallflower is kind.) I love coming of age movies like Reality Bites and Grease and am seen to see this flick too please.

  27. I really wanted to see this but missed it at the movies - a wriggly toddler and four year old aren't conducive to good cinema experiences (apart from cartoons!). I would love to watch this in the comfort of my lounge room, with a pause button if needed.

  28. Harry was so bad in this movie, he didn't even do any tricks... oh wait, that's not Hermione.

I want to say Emma Watson is the standout in this movie, yet I feel all 3 leads are phenomenal. I'm man enough to say i shed a tear... okay, plural - tears.

  29. I'd love to win a copy of this movie becaaaaause my local movie shop guy told me it was time to grow up when I collected the last few Potter DVD's from their ex-rental section and said that perhaps I'd like to try a proper movie when I rented Tangled. He's mean. I'd like to avoid him.

  30. My daughter loves this book and movie. I like it because it caused her to come to me to ask, "Dad, could you please put some Smiths music on my iPod?" That felt good.

  31. It looks and sound like an awesome movie and need something to watch beside boring tv shows.
