The Journey Begins....

I am not sure I want to do this publicly but then I thought it might help motivate someone else too.

I am sorely lacking gym motivation. I know exactly when it started. I got personally knocked last year, then Christmas holidays started and creche fees were too expensive. $8 for 2 children, if you do this 5 times a week it adds up ($40 per/w, $160 per/m = about $250 for Christmas holidays. Cha-ching!

I have been running, outside and on my treadmill. This has not made up for all the indulging I have done over the last 6 months.

My goals are:
1. Tone up. My trouble areas are my stomach, bum and legs;
2. Lose 8kgs. This is not a lot but it's always hard to lose those last few kilos;
3. Be a good example to my girls; and
4. LIVE A HEALTHIER LIFE.

If I can throw a triathlon or 1/2 marathon in there, I will be pretty happy too.
So, to achieve my goals I have engaged Personal trainer extraordinaire, Peter Sargent. Pete has transformed bodies. A good friend now looks like a athlete worthy of the olympics. Pete has also won and completed in International Body Building Competitions.

My first session is on Friday.

 I would like to make a vow now, I promise to leave my butt imprint on every RPM bike and every machine seat, I will leave my fingerprint on every bar and weight. I will wear deodorant and bring my towel and positive attitude. I will not grunt or pull ugly faces and I will start my diet tomorrow.

  1. I always saw Pete chatting to his charges in the gym, half the time he was also eating something. They'd be flogging away on the treadmill and he'd be standing there telling them to go faster, while eating pasta - evil!

  10. Good Luck! That's the worst thing about the gym- the cost! But it is better to spend money on something important like that than blow it on takeaway (that's what I tell hubby anyway!). Hope it goes well.

    1. I completely agree. It's expensive but a good way to spend your money. Still, having a run outside is free, but doesn't have a creche. Rachel x

  11. Hey - thanks for linking in with Team Friday - I am so chuffed!

    I think it does help others to be real and honest and to just lay it all out there... Good on you for acknowledging what you need to do. I love that you have listed your goals, really great to see what other people are working towards.

    Can't wait to share in the journey!

      Now that I have listed, I am going to try very hard to achieve them. I think they are realistic.

  12. Have you considered running for a charity event to raise money and give you a renewed focus and motivation.

    Check out Team world vision . I am running the City to Surf in August -
    Good luck on your journey .
