Glazed and confused

I love food. I pretty much organise my days around what I can eat.  So, being the greedy girl I am, I decided to check out the winner of the Quest Dining award.

Donut King
They are conveniently located in the award winning precinct of Kippa Ring Peninsula fair. This is a lucky stretch indeed.
I do love a good donut. It melted in my mouth and was gone in seconds.
But I can't help but think that if I comes in a paper bag or is eaten in a food court it isn't really dining.

PS: I think the owners of Donut King are running a lovely, neat business. They are professional and provide excellent service but I personally don't think donuts in a food court is dining.

PS: I am joining up for Wordless Wednesday at My Little Drummer Boys and Twinkle in the eye

  2. Lol I love that you organise your day around food - I love food too! Looks like a great donut but would have to agree with the dining thing...a donut wouldn't be the first thing that comes to mind :)

  3. Oh is it wrong to want one of those for breakfast?

  4. How glamorous is your donut shot?! They'd sell tonnes more if they used that shot! :)

No offence to Donut King, but "dining"? Give me a break!

  5. Ahhh yes maybe not 'dining' but certainly a food group on their own, right?

  7. Dining? Heck it can't really even be considered "eating"! It looks delicious, but eeesh. Ok for special treat once in a while, I wouldn't recommend "dining" there often lol

  8. Yum! I love Donut King. Yes Krispy Kreme are amazing, but there is something about the cakey goodness of the contents of those pink paper bags. x

  10. This is a great Wordless Wednesday idea! I agree - as a North Brissie local, I've visited this fine establishment with my kiddies, and I'm sure they are doing a wonderful job in their chosen area of food distribution, but that area is NOT 'dining'.

  12. That's hilarious Rachel! Donut King is a perfectly reasonable winner. They have hotdogs too you know, thrown back with a $6 milkshake, a donut and you're laughin'! LOL

  13. I've always thought that I'm not a doughnut person and then I have a hot jam donut and say "where did the not being a doughnut person thing come from?!" Love them freshly cooled at markets

  15. Don't know about dining, but it's eating, lol. Two of my fav places to eat are in one of the mall food courts, sigh.
These look delish, and that glaze. How does it not stick to the wrapper.

  18. Donuts are my weakness... that I have passed onto the kids! I have no idea if they will love or loath me for it when they are older, but who can't go past a good donut?!

  19. How bizarre that they where even in that category! No offence to Donut King, but there are plenty of excellent choices to eat dinner in the region, in proper restaurants even. I hope Quest take a hard look at their awards, they seem a bit useless...

  22. Oh you evil lady! My mouth is now watering and all I can think about it donuts! (and oddly, the voice of Homer Simpson)

  23. Haha, I do love a good donut - but yes I agree that donuts aren't really dining. (Unless they are Spanish donuts on the end of the tapas dessert menu - YUM!)

  24. Hmmm...yeah, I don't know if it quite cuts it for dining. But who cares when it tastes (and looks!) that bloody good. A donut with a soy chai latte would be heaven right now...mmmmm..

  25. Paper bag not equalling fine dining? That rules out kebabs, chips in a funnel, sausage sandwiches from bunnnings...

    1. Sausage sizzle will always be dining. Maybe the Bunnings sausage sizzle will win the dining award next year.

  26. Nothing like a melt in your mouth donut.

  27. Hmmm.... 'Dining' not sure about that either...

Plus, if I have a donut, it has be a hot, cinnamon one... mmmmm.... #hellobiggerknickers

  28. Dining? Not in my book, either. Gorging, face-stuffing, pigging. Not dining.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ah yeah, no. Donuts in a food court is definitely not 'dining'. But then what do I know, my idea of fine dining is eating dinner without having anything smeared in my hair by baby girl!

  30. According to the Homer Simpson school of thought a doughnut is the finest dining experience you can have (provided that it is consumed in front of the TV and washed down with Duff Beer).

  31. Umm so I just want a donut right now... yum!

  32. OH donuts. I have not had one for a long time. I agree with you about the donut in a bag too

  33. Dining? No. Guilty pleasure? Absolutely!

  34. Oh my gosh Rachel, we're huge Donut King fans!! And as far am I'm concerned, if you're eating and you're out - it's dining.....while you've got kids anyway lol. Maybe when the kids are older my standards will increase xx
