Are you calling me a chicken??

Do you have a collection of something that you don't remember collecting? I was cooking dinner last night and noticed all these beading little eyes watching me. I am not sure why I have so many chickens in my kitchen.
These glass ones sit on my kitchen bench.  One was a gift from an aunt, the other a friend and I found the spotty colourful one at a jewellery shop in Kippa Ring.
These two crack me up. They sit on top of my range hood and critic my cooking. I imagine they have voices similar to the two old men in the muppets. I found them at Whisk in Northlakes
You have seen my chicken tea cozy with 3 chickens sitting on top.
I even have a vintage chicken money box. It doesn't even fit 50c coins.
This lovely wooden one was adopted from a now closed Art gallery called Baci in Scarborough. My husband doesn't like this one, he thinks it looks evil. I am glad I didn't get it's evil siblings too then.

I even have one that watches me through the kitchen window. I found her at a nursery in Clontarf. The easter bunny always leaves chocolate eggs around her.
Do you have any collections you don't remember collecting?

  1. That is a fine collection of chickens you have there! I used to collect used bus tickets - ???? I don't have then now. My son does have anever growing and now quite spectacular rock collection now that will probably end up somewhat like your chickens. How did I get these again?

  4. Wow you really like chickens!

As a kid I thought it would be fun to collect cushions, but now I think that is a stupid idea.
I do have a fine collection of coffee mugs though....

  6. I love your collection of chickens! My mother had a similar collection of ducks... It always fascinated me how people could interpret the same thing in so many ways. :)
