My girls are complete opposite to each other in every way. Strangers often over step the lines of social graces to ask if they are both mine or if they are full siblings. Yes, they are. Same mother, same father, raised in the same house the same way. Yet completely opposite in every way.
My 6yo has a quiet confidence. She doesn't ever doubt her ability to do anything. As far as she is concerned she is completely perfect. She is an adventurous and fun dresser. She likes what she likes and puts awesome outfits together. She has the biggest heart and if she had one chocolate she would give it to anyone that asked. Big bright, brown eyes, long dark hair, ridiculously contagious giggle, and very very funny. At night she sleeps with her wardrobe door wide open and things spilling out of it.
We took her shopping on the weekend, out of the whole of Myer all she wanted this hat. It reflects her personality. I think I'll be borrowing this.
My 8yo is shy, quiet and self conscious. She looks like an Angel, the bluest eyes and long blonde hair. She is so very smart. She is in the top groups in all subject and reads at a grade 6 level. Yet she always doubts she can do things. She worries about trying because she is scared of failing. She is very sweet, polite, funny and competitive. She is a deep thinker and extremely loyal. This little monkey has the clearest and most rational arguments that she makes me feel silly. At night she needs the wardrobe completely closed, the fan on two clicks, a bottle of water and her special toy.
When she had the pick of Myer, she chose a pair of 3/4 tracksuit pants. She would much rather be comfortable and not attract any attention. I am not tempted to borrower these.
Genetics are amazing. I do wonder if I kept popping out children how different they would be. I also try to imagine a little hybrid that bridges the differences between these two angels.
